My own struggles with quitting mirror yours. It was one of the most difficult things to just watch myself stop believing in my own resolve. Thankfully I did finally succeed some 2 years back and hopefully it’s all behind me now *touch wood*.

What worked for me was the Happiness course + advanced course combo of the Art of Living. The Happiness course teaches a rhythmic breathing exercise called Sudarshan Kriya which energised the body so much that the very craving just drops away. Recently I’d also helped organise one such course for a major Japanese automobile manufacturer. Out of 21 people who’d reported an addiction of some sorts, 18 of them reported having quit when surveyed by the company 3 months later.

It just works! How? By giving the person a very positive tool which can help take the place of the cigarette when those pangs come.
